Terms of Service
Deployment template
LedgerBug is self-hostable software. These terms are a deployment template, not universal terms for every installation. Each deployment operator must publish terms that identify the operator and match the services, jurisdiction, support, and liability model it actually offers.
Who may use the Service
LedgerBug is a professional tool intended for CPAs and accounting professionals. You are responsible for having the authority and any necessary client consent to import and process the data you bring into the Service.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Use the Service only for lawful, professional purposes and in compliance with applicable professional standards.
- Review all outputs. The Service — including any AI-assisted suggestions — is a tool to support your work; you remain responsible for the accuracy of financial statements, adjusting entries, and other deliverables, and for exercising professional judgment.
AI-assisted features
LedgerBug offers AI features that can analyze books and propose entries. Nothing is posted to your books without your explicit approval. AI output may contain errors and must be verified before you rely on it.
Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties such as Intuit/QuickBooks. Your use of those connections is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.
Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LedgerBug is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages except as required by applicable law. The Service does not provide accounting, tax, audit, or legal advice; professional responsibility for books and deliverables remains with its users and deployment operator. Operators should replace this section with reviewed terms before offering a hosted service.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend access for violation of the operator's published terms. Export and deletion rights depend on those terms and applicable law.
Governing law
The deployment operator must specify the governing law and dispute terms applicable to its service.
Contact
Contact the operator of your LedgerBug deployment. Project security reports should follow SECURITY.md.
